It is already pre-seasoned, meaning it has been coated with vegetable oil to create the perfect non-stick layer to prevent food from sticking.

Cast iron cookware has an excellent ability to retain the heat of food during cooking. Additionally, cooking in cast iron cookware is generally much healthier, as they do not contain artificial chemical compounds like Teflon.
