I used it as the backbone for the series of lenses I chose to use at the two weddings I have covered so far, due to its large flexible range.
It is a very good lens optically, with minimal chromatic aberrations towards the edges which disappear with Lightroom corrections. In focusing, it is extremely fast and absolutely silent, to the point where I couldn't believe it. I found the zoom ring a bit stiff, but maybe it was just the unit I used. Even from f4 it delivers satisfactory sharpness, but it also needs the right light.
It does very well what it was made for, but personally next time I will go for a larger aperture for the bokeh without having to change lenses very often.

The lens is a gem. Incredible sharpness, silent and fast autofocus, unbelievably versatile with the range it has, quality construction, a bit heavy for what I am used to but I am extremely satisfied with it.

An excellent and "affordable" lens compared to RF lenses. I mainly use it in the studio, where it is excellent and shows the true image quality it can deliver. However, this does not make it inferior for landscape photography, portraits, etc. in daylight, where it produces excellent images, especially in the center, with most apertures (the sweet spot is f/8) and focal distances. I highly recommend it and it should not be missing from any photographer (amateur or professional)
