The Keen Targhee III Waterproof Hikers are made to perform on the trails. They are mid-height to protect the ankles from scratches while hiking in wooded areas. The height also helps to keep the foot stable when walking on rocky or uneven terrain. They provide traction on mountain trails and muddy or slippery ground.
Having read many good reviews, I decided to invest in a pair of boots for the winter.
The positives. They are indeed incredibly comfortable, you wear them and just walk, no break-in or anything. No discomfort anywhere, as if you've had them for a while.
Waterproof, yes. Used 90% in the city and a bit outside, they didn't feel anything in any puddle. And this is where the positives end.
The negatives. Let's start with the laces. Terrible. They come undone easily if you don't double knot them.
The insole is below average. It was replaced with a Magnum Survivor and it became a different shoe. Much more stable and comfortable.
The sole slips easily on the sidewalk, like all of them. 200 km and I don't see any particular wear.
And the most important, the reason I'm writing this review. Dude, what kind of construction quality is this?
I've done 204 km in a year, almost all in the city. After 120 km and above, cracks started appearing on the sides as you can see in the photos. Is this possible? I've never seen such a mess before. I don't know if it's fabric or some recyclable material, but when you ask for €160 for a shoe, what I saw is unacceptable. A tragic fail in construction quality. Fortunately, they were bought on sale for €100, but still, why? Such a comfortable shoe but so poorly made. I mean, if I took it 200 km off-road, what would happen, would I come back barefoot?
Really two stars for comfort and waterproofing.
It's a pity, they officially downgrade to work shoes in just one year.
Έχοντας διαβάσει πολλές καλές κριτικές αποφάσισα να επενδύσω σε ένα ζευγάρι μποτάκια για το χειμώνα.
Τα θετικά. Είναι όντως τρομερά άνετα, τα φοράς και απλά περπατάς, ούτε break in ούτε τίποτα. Χτύπημα πουθενά, σα να τα είχες καιρό.
Αδιάβροχα ναι. Σε χρήση 90% εντός πόλης και λίγο εκτός, σε ότι λακούβα μπήκε δεν κατάλαβε τίποτα. Και κάπου εδώ τελειώνουν τα θετικά.
Τα αρνητικά. Ξεκινάμε με τα κορδόνια. Τραγικά. Ανοίγουν για πλάκα αν δεν κάνεις διπλό δέσιμο.
Ο πάτος κάτω του μετρίου. Αντικαταστάθηκε με έναν Magnum Survivor και έγινε άλλο παπούτσι. Πολύ πιο σταθερό και άνετο.
Η σόλα γλυστράει για πλάκα σε πεζοδρόμιο, όπως όλα. 200χλμ και φθορά ιδιαίτερη δε βλέπω.
Και το πιο βασικό και ο λόγος που κάνω αυτήν την κριτική. Ρε φίλε, τι ποιότητα κατασκευής είναι αυτή ;

Δεν ξέρω αν είναι ύφασμα ή κάποιο ανακυκλώσιμο υλικό αλλά όταν ζητάς 160€ για ένα παπούτσι αυτό που είδα είναι απαράδεκτο. Τραγικό fail η ποιότητα κατασκευής. Ευτυχώς αγοράστηκαν σε προσφορά στα 100€ αλλά και πάλι, γιατί ; Τόσο άνετο παπούτσι αλλά τόσο κακοκατασκευασμένο. Δηλαδή αν το έβγαζα 200χλμ εκτός δρόμου τι θα γινόταν, θα γυρνούσα ξυπόλυτος;
Πραγματικά δύο αστέρια για την άνεση και την αδιαβροχοποίηση.
Κρίμα, υποβιβάζονται και επίσημα σε παπούτσια για αγροτικές εργασίες σε έναν μόλις χρόνο.
