Description

Ktima Akrathos began its journey in 2008 with the purchase of its first vineyards in the Municipality of Aristotle in Chalkidiki. The estate’s organic vineyards are planted with indigenous Greek varieties and are located on the eastern slopes of Mount Holomontas, overlooking Mount Athos and the Singitikos Gulf.

At an altitude of 550 - 700 meters, the vineyards are exposed to the midday sea breeze as well as the cool, humid winds from the surrounding mountains at night. These key factors contribute to the seasonal hydration sources of the vines and allow for the sparing use of valuable natural resources.

The quality of the grapes is ensured by moderate watering, the shallow, sandy clay soil, and the schist subsoil, which contribute to low yield but high-quality production. The grapes reach excellent ripeness with balanced acidity and aromas, offering the possibility of aging in the estate's wines.
