Koumandaria is a sweet dessert wine produced in the region of Koumandaria in Cyprus, at the foothills of the Troodos mountain range.
It is made from sun-dried grapes. Wines produced in this way are called "Straw Wines" abroad.
It is classified as a Cypriot wine with history, its name comes from the Knights of Saint John from the 11th century who were fans of this sweet, richly fruity wine with notes of raisins and dessert wine.
