Description

With a long family tradition in the historical wine-growing area of Aigion since 1946, the Katsikosta family has passed on to the 3rd generation, comprising siblings Loukas and Sosanna, who have studied oenology in France. Thus, in 2004, Achaion Winery was established and these siblings took over the reins of the winery.

The selection of the best grapes from Achaia and Aigialeia, specifically from the mountainous region, even from less common grape varieties, is the vision of Achaion Winery for its wines. Achaion Winery focuses on vinifying indigenous varieties cultivated in the mountainous region of Aigialeia to produce high-quality wines.

A Greek variety cultivated in Achaia is the moscato di rio, a dry wine vinified so that it pairs well with food. The White small-berried Muscat produces wines with a rare and complex aromatic character, mainly of unripe fruits and flowers. The unique aroma of the grape’s fruit dominates.

Review this product
  • Okay, it was a bit flat and somewhat indifferent! Mild with a neutral taste, easy to drink dry, not as aromatic as a Muscat usually is, and unfortunately, I didn't detect any aromas in the taste, medium to low acidity, and a bit heavy in the mouth
