The Nike Air Max 97 maintain the same design details that made the original model a favorite sneaker and made it famous: wavy lines, reflective piping, and Max Air cushioning throughout the length.

Origin

This style from the late 1990s represents the era of impressive design with a futuristic approach. Thanks to the reflective, molded lines, the silver tones reminiscent of Japanese high-speed trains (Bullet Trains), and the full-length Max Air cushioning in one of its first applications, this shoe continues to captivate attention. It was first released in 1997. Since then, it has been released in a plethora of colors with the most beloved being the silver, which was the launch color, and of course the gold, which was released shortly after.

Air Max 97 History

The revolutionary Nike Air-Sole unit began being used in Nike shoes in 1978. In 1987, the Nike Air Max 1 was introduced with a visible Air-Sole unit in the heel, allowing fans of the model not only to feel but also to see this groundbreaking technology. Two years later, the Nike Air Max 95 made its appearance with a visible Air-Sole unit in the forefoot, while the Nike Air Max 97 was released with the first full-length unit. The shoe became a favorite model among runners, as expected from its wavy design lines. More than two decades later, it continues to make waves.
