The Dragino LoRa Shield is a long-range receiver in the form of an Arduino shield based on an open library. The LoRa Shield allows for data transmission over extremely long distances with low data rates. It provides communication with a very distant range and high interference tolerance while minimizing power consumption.
Based on the RFM95W, the LoRa Shield targets professional wireless sensor network applications such as irrigation systems, smart metering, smart cities, smartphone detection, building automation, etc.
Using Hope RF's patented LoRa modulation technique, the LoRa Shield can achieve sensitivity above -148 dBm using a low-cost crystal and material list. The high sensitivity, combined with the built-in +20 dBm power amplifier, offers a superior link budget, making it optimal for any application requiring range or endurance. LoRa also offers significant advantages in both blocking and selectivity compared to conventional modulation techniques.
