The DFRduino GPS Shield for Arduino has been updated with the ublox LEA-6H. The LEA-6H is a high-performance standalone GPS and GALILEO receiver, designed for easy migration from its predecessors, the LEA-4. It features u-blox's KickStart technology for acquiring weak signals, as well as flexible connection options. The LEA-6H includes built-in Flash memory, allowing firmware updates and storage of specific settings in non-volatile RAM. The integrated antenna supervisor supports external and active antennas, such as u-blox's high-performance ANN GPS antenna.
U-blox's KickStart technology provides accelerated startup in weak signals, and the internal GPS SuperSense® is capable of tracking and acquiring even extremely weak signals, making the LEA-6H suitable for solutions with small or hidden antennas.
