- For writing, choose pencils with F, HB, B, 2B, or 3B leads. As the B increases, the lead becomes softer and the writing darker. As the H increases, the lead becomes harder and the writing lighter.

- Hexagon: Offers good control and a stable grip, while not rolling easily off the desk. Suitable for everyday writing and drawing.
- Drawing (Soft): Suitable for shading and bold lines.
- Writing & School (Medium): Suitable for everyday writing, note-taking, and school use.
- Technical Drawing (Hard): Suitable for fine lines and tasks that require precision.
- Regular: Standard pencil size with a diameter of 6.8–8 mm, suitable for everyday writing and school use.
- Jumbo: Thick pencil size with a diameter of 8–16 mm, for a more comfortable and stable grip.
- Coal: They are mainly used in painting, as they achieve a deeper black. They smudge more than graphite pencils. They require a special eraser for erasing.
