Michalis Tsiros
Michalis Tsiros is a professor and chair of the Marketing Department at the University of Miami and a visiting professor of Marketing at ALBA, holding the "Tasos Papastratos" research position. Previously, he was a faculty member at Washington University in St. Louis. He holds a degree (with distinction) in Computer Science and Business Administration from St. John's University, an MBA from St. John's University, and a Ph.D. in Marketing from Temple University. He has also taught at Dartmouth College and the London Business School. In 2010, he was awarded the Davidson Award for his paper, which was recognized as the best article of the year in the "Journal of Retailing." Recently, he was included among the top 15 young marketing academics based on his research performance and participated in the internationally recognized 2005 Young Scholars Program. This program selects the 30 most promising young academics in the field of Marketing every two years. His research interests include pricing and promotional discounts, the role of customer satisfaction and regret in decision-making, post-purchase evaluation, and subsequent behavior. His research examines phenomena studied in behavioral decision theory, as well as in social and cognitive psychology, and how these apply to marketing, particularly in all stages of the consumer decision-making process. His articles have been published in leading academic journals, such as the "Journal of Marketing Research," "Journal of Consumer Research," "Journal of Marketing," "Journal of Retailing," "Journal of Services Marketing," and "Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes." He has served on the editorial review board of the "Journal of Marketing" and is a member of the editorial review board of the "Journal of Retailing" and the "Journal of Services Research." He has taught courses such as Introduction to Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Market Research, and Services Marketing at undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as to executives. Lastly, he has extensive consulting experience with market research companies (e.g., The Response Center, Research Data Analysis, Maritz Marketing Research).
