Vasilis THeocharakis
Vasilis Theocharakis is an Associate Professor of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at ALBA Graduate Business School and a Senior Lecturer at Aston Business School. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering (with distinction) and a master's degree in Electrical Engineering, as well as an MBA (with distinction) from NYU. He also holds a Ph.D. from the University of Warwick. He has taught at the University of Berkeley and Golden Gate University. His research focuses on strategic marketing, new product development, and entrepreneurship. He is a founding member of the European Business Plan of the Year Competition (EBPYC) Foundation, where he also served as president. Under his supervision, ALBA MBA student teams have won the first prize three times and the second prize twice in the European Business Plan of the Year Competition, achieving the best ranking in Europe. He has worked for several years in Silicon Valley in senior marketing positions at high-tech startups and companies such as 3Com, as well as at IBM's renowned T. J. Watson Research Center. He is the Chairman of the Board and co-founder of the nanotechnology company NanoPhos S.A. His research findings have been published in leading academic journals, including: "International Journal of Research in Marketing," "Research Policy," "Journal of Product Innovation Management," "Marketing Letters," "Journal of Business Research," "Industrial Marketing Management," "Review of Marketing Science," "Communications of the ACM," "Contemporary Accounting Research," "Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis," "Journal of Operations Management," "The American Statistician," "Journal of the European Economics Association," and "IEEE Network." He is among the most downloaded authors worldwide on the Social Science Research Network (SSRN). He has extensive consulting experience with Greek and multinational companies and is actively involved in executive education.
