Andreas Athanasopoulos
Andreas Athanasopoulos is a Professor of Financial Services at ALBA Graduate Business School and General Manager of Retail Banking at the National Bank of Greece. He is also an Honorary Professor at Warwick Business School. He studied at the University of Patras and holds an MSc in Statistics and Operational Research and a Ph.D. in Industrial and Business Studies from Warwick Business School, where he also taught for five years (1992-1996). His main interests in research, teaching, and consulting focus on the following areas: (a) development of competitive business strategies, (b) design and implementation of marketing policies, with an emphasis on service-providing companies, (c) development of customer satisfaction measurement systems and business performance measurement systems, (d) management of financial services organizations. He has over 40 publications in leading international journals, such as "Management Science," "Journal of Money and Credit Banking," "Production and Operations Management," "Journal of Operational Research Society," "Annals of Operations Research," "International Journal of Bank Marketing," "Journal of Management Studies," among others. He is a member of the following scientific societies: Institute For Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS), European Marketing Academy, Decision Science Institute, Productivity Analysis Research Network (PARN), American Society for Productivity and Quality (ASPQ). He is also a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Productivity Analysis. He has provided consulting services to both private and public sector companies, including Allied Lyons (brewery), Abbey National (bank), Corral (betting shops), the UK Home Office, Cadbury (confectionery company), Hellenic Industrial Development Bank, ETBA, ELKEPA, Public Power Corporation, OTE, Hellenic Tobacco Organization, Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA), Piraeus Bank, British Providence Insurance.
