P. H. Emerson

Peter Emerson was born in Cuba and moved to England in 1869. He trained as a doctor and became a successful surgeon, but he left medicine to become a photographer. Emerson was a great naturalist, and some of his best photographs are of natural sciences. Among his numerous talents were writing detective stories, excelling in billiards, and studying meteorology.
