Stefanos Zarkos
Stefanos Zarkos is an Assistant Professor of Finance and the academic director of the MSc in Finance, MSc in Business for Lawyers, and MSc in International Business & Management programs at ALBA Graduate Business School. He graduated from the Business Administration Department of Cardiff University and holds a master's degree in Finance from Strathclyde University and a Ph.D. from Manchester University. His research interests lie in the broader area of financial management and strategy, including investment appraisal, real options theory, and managerial accounting. His research work focuses on the application of real options theory in managerial accounting, such as selecting the optimal product mix under production constraints, choosing between mutually exclusive investment projects with different durations, studying time chartering in commercial shipping, developing new strategic planning tools, and more. His recent research has been published in journals such as "Accounting and Business Research," "Strategic Management Journal," and "Managerial and Decision Economics." He has extensive teaching experience and has participated as a lecturer in executive seminars for major companies (Eurobank-Ergasias, Vodafone, Carrefour-Marinopoulos, EAB, LARCO, Papastratos / Philip-Morris, TASTY, MINERVA, etc.). He has served as a consultant and scientific associate at Tegopoulos/ENET S.A. and ICAP. He is a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece, a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), and part qualified with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in the UK.
