
Giannis Athanasopoulos
Giannis Athanasopoulos was born in Athens in 1970. He holds a degree in Architectural Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (1994) and is a PhD candidate at the Department of Architectural Engineering at the Democritus University of Thrace. During the academic year 2006-2007, he taught as a contract lecturer at the rank of lecturer (P.D. 407/80) in the Department of Architectural Engineering at the Democritus University of Thrace. Since 2005, he has been teaching as an external collaborator and consultant in music theory and applications for the elective mandatory course at the School of Architectural Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens, titled: "Musical and Architectural Convergences: Counterpoint as a Tool for Musical and Architectural Composition." He works as a freelance professional, conducting studies for public and private projects. He has participated in and received awards in national architectural competitions. He is a certified Viola player and has participated as an occasional member in concerts of the Athens State Orchestra, as well as in chamber music concerts as a member of various ensembles in Greece and abroad.
