
Nikolaos Zacharias
Nikos Zacharias received his Ph.D. from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where he also completed his undergraduate studies in the School of Chemical Engineering. He is an Assistant Professor and the Director of the Archaeometry Laboratory at the University of the Peloponnese. He has worked at the University of Bonn and the National Center for Scientific Research "Demokritos" and has received scholarships from the Ministry of Development, the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), and the European Union. His expertise lies in the absolute dating of inorganic archaeological materials, the analysis and characterization of vitreous materials, microdosimetry, paleoenvironmental reconstruction studies, and the application of digital technology in archaeology. He is the co-author of 115 articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings, as well as a monograph. He serves as a reviewer for international journals and an evaluator for national and community research programs. He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, the Panhellenic Association of Chemical Engineers, the Hellenic Society for Archaeometry, and various cultural associations.
