Amy Chua

Amy Chua is an American of Chinese descent. She is a professor holding the John M. Duff Chair of Law at Yale. Her first book, "World on Fire: How Exporting Free Market Democracy Breeds Ethnic Hatred and Global Instability," a New York Times bestseller, was selected by both the Economist and the UK's Guardian as one of the best books of 2003. Her second book, "Day of Empire: How Hyperpowers Rise to Global Dominance - and Why They Fall," received excellent reviews and was included in the Foreign Affairs magazine bestseller list. Chua happily resides with her husband, two daughters, and two Samoyed dogs in New Haven, Connecticut.
