
Aristea Papanikolaou - Kristensen
Aristea Papanikolaou-Christensen was born in Athens in 1936. She holds a degree from the Department of History and Archaeology of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Athens and from the Department of Classical Archaeology at the University of Copenhagen. Between 1960 and 1963, she attended postgraduate courses and seminars in archaeology at the Faculte des Lettres et Sciences Humaines and the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes in Paris. As a scientific assistant in the department of classical antiquities at the National Museum in Copenhagen, she published: "Les Poteries Hellenistiques, Hama, III 2, 1973" and "Les ceramiques et byzantines, Hama, III 3, 1986." Since 1978, she has been researching Danish archives to gather information about Greece in the 19th century, focusing on the Othonian period, 1833-1862 (Lyt, Chr., "A Danish Woman at the Court of Otto," Athens 1818-1853, "Works of Danish Artists," Lyt, Chr., "In Athens of 1847-1848").
