Melita Emmanouil

Melita Emmanuel is a professor of Art History at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens. She holds degrees from the Department of Classical Philology and the Department of History and Archaeology of the School of Philosophy at the University of Athens. She has attended postgraduate courses and seminars at the University of Munich and received her doctoral degree from the School of Philosophy at the University of Athens. Her studies focus on Byzantine art, as well as Greek and European painting and sculpture of the 19th and 20th centuries. She has specifically worked on the Byzantine monuments of Euboea and Mystras, as well as the works of contemporary Greek creators.
