Kaii Tsitseli

Kaie Tsitseli (1926-2001). Kaie Tsitseli was born in Marseille, with her maternal roots tracing back to Chios and her paternal roots to Kefalonia. She first came to Greece at the age of ten, which is when she also began learning Greek. She graduated from the American College of Greece. During the German occupation, she lived in Kefalonia, her father's homeland. She traveled to England, Italy, Pakistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Nigeria, and in 1964, she settled in Athens. She married in 1957. Tsitseli worked in Greek radio and was involved in literary translation from English and Greek. She collaborated with numerous literary magazines and contributed to the volume "18 Texts" during the April dictatorship. She was nominated for the European Literary Prize in 2000.
