Ilias Iliopoulos

Ilias Iliopoulos was born in 1967 in Athens. He graduated from the Department of History and Archaeology at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. After successfully passing the State Scholarship Foundation exams, he continued his studies at the University of Munich (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitat Munchen), focusing on Eastern & Southeastern European History, Modern and Contemporary History, and Political Science. He was awarded a Doctorate in Philosophy (Dr. Phil) from the same university. His doctoral thesis, based on extensive research of British, German, American, and Greek diplomatic archives, examines Greece's position within the balance of power and influence of the Great (Maritime and Continental) Powers of the era and the realistic Strategy of Containment against the Revisionist Threat to Greece.
