Iordanis Markoulatos

Jordanis Markoulatos teaches philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, Education, and Psychology at the University of Ioannina. He was born in 1968 in Piraeus. He studied philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, Education, and Psychology at the University of Ioannina. In February 1999, he was awarded a Ph.D. in philosophy from the Department of Philosophy at Temple University in Philadelphia, United States, where he studied on a Fulbright Foundation scholarship. After completing his postgraduate studies, he served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Sociology at the same university. He has also taught philosophy at Drexel and LaSalle Universities (USA), as well as at the Department of Philosophy at the University of Patras. His teaching and research work focuses on exploring ontological issues that arise at the intersections of contemporary philosophy and the social sciences. He has published articles in international and Greek philosophical journals and collective volumes, as well as the book "Body and Meaning: An Essay on Political Ontology" (2007).
