Aristeidis CHatzis

Aristides Hatzis is an Associate Professor of Philosophy of Law & Theory of Institutions at the Department of Methodology, History & Theory of Science at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds a Ph.D. in Law & Economics from the University of Chicago, is a practicing lawyer, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Society of European Contract Law and the European Network for Better Regulation. He is also a member of the Scientific Councils of the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) and the Center for Liberal Studies (KeFiM). From March 2014 to May 2016, he was a member of the National Council for Research and Technology (ESET). He has been awarded scholarships and academic prizes, and his work has been published in Greek and international academic journals and collective volumes. He has taught and delivered numerous lectures, seminars, and talks at conferences across Europe, North America, Africa, and the Far East. He is the editor of the collective volume "Law and Economics: Philosophical Issues and Fundamental Questions" (London/New York: Routledge, 2015). He has contributed articles to major media outlets in Greece (To Vima, Ta Nea, Eleftherotypia, Kathimerini, Protagon, VICE, etc.) and internationally (New York Times, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, etc.), and has given interviews to Greek radio and television stations as well as international media (BBC, Bloomberg News, Economist, Euronews, Financial Times, Guardian, Spiegel, National Public Radio, New York Times, Time, Voice of America, Wall Street Journal, Belgian, French, German, Italian, Irish, Chinese, Korean, Swedish, Finnish Public Television, etc.).
