Konstantinos Kolmer

Journalist Kostas Kolmer was born in Athens. He holds a degree from the Law School of the University of Athens and is a graduate of the School of Economics and Political Sciences. He pursued postgraduate studies in economics at the University of Los Angeles. He worked as a financial editor for newspapers such as "Naftemporiki," "Mesimvrini," "Hrima," "Estia," "Ta Nea," "Makedonia," and "Vradyni," where he launched financial columns in the latter four. He was a long-time columnist for the magazines "Oikonomikos Tachydromos" and "Epikentra." He wrote on national issues for "Paron" and for "Nea Politiki" of the publishing house "Papazisis." Currently, he is a financial analyst and authors a timely politico-economic book each year. In 1979, he became a producer and presenter for ERT's program "You are in the EEC. Learn about the EEC." In 1982, he was a radio commentator for ANT1, and in 1995, he established the first-ever economic program in Greece on Channel 5. Today, he comments on the politico-economic situation on the show "Tomes" on High TV every other Thursday. As a co-founder of the Center for Political Research and Information (KPEE), he played a leading role in awakening the well-understood "economic liberalism" in our country. He is a member of the Journalists' Union of the Athens Daily Newspapers (ESIEA), the Association of European Journalists, and the Foreign Press Association. He represents the Swiss financial newspaper "HandelsZeitung" in Greece and has been promoting our country with an annual feature since 1976.
