Georgios K. Konstantinidis

Georgios Konstantinidis was born in Naousa in 1853 (the date of his death is unknown). He studied philology in Athens and Germany. He served as the director of the Zarifeios Teaching Schools in Plovdiv and the Commercial School of Halki, and he was appointed as the curator of the National Library in Athens three times between 1890 and 1904. From 1905 to 1915, he worked as a consultant for the Court of Audit. His literary and historical work is extensive, and among the publications he released are: "Homeric Theology" (1876), "History of Athens from the Birth of Christ to the Year 1821" (1887), "Platonic Dialogues" (1888), "The Causes of the Fall of the Byzantine Empire" (1891). The present work "History of Athens" was published under the title "Epitome of the History of Athens from the Beginning to Our Times" in 1930.
