Andreas Drymiotis

Andreas Drymiotis was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, in 1940. He completed his primary education at "Elenio" Elementary School and attended the Pancyprian Gymnasium until the fourth grade of the six-grade high school. He effectively completed the remaining two grades in the Kokkinotrimithia and Pyla Detention Centers, where he was held "without trial" for a total of twenty months. In 1959, he moved to Athens and studied at the National Technical University of Athens, in the School of Civil Engineering. He graduated from NTUA in 1964 and went to England in 1965 for further training. He returned to Athens in September 1966 and began working at Doxiadis Associates on January 1, 1967. He continued to work there until 1984, serving as an executive and General Manager of the company Doxiadis Electronic Investigators. In 1984, together with the present-day Alpha Bank and Doxiadis Electronic Investigators, he founded Delta Informatics, where he served as Chairman and CEO until 2001. In that year, Delta Informatics merged with Singular to form Delta Singular, where he remained Chairman until its absorption by Alpha Bank in 2005. Since then, he has been Vice Chairman at Unisystems S.A. He is one of the pioneers of information technology in Greece, and his most significant contribution is the use of computers in the collection and transmission of election results in Greece from 1981 to the present.
