Loukas Louka

Lukas Louka was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, in 1967. He is a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens with a degree in Electrical Engineering (Computer and Informatics Engineering), holds a master's degree in Information Systems from Leicester University, and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA - UK). After completing his studies, he worked at the international accounting and auditing firm Coopers & Lybrand (PricewaterhouseCoopers) and later at Laiki Bank. Concurrently, he taught International Accounting Standards (IAS) and Management Accounting to ACCA candidates in Cyprus, Greece, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Russia. Since 2001, he has been working full-time at the multinational professional education organization Globaltraining, teaching thousands of participants in IAS seminars in Greece, Cyprus, Kuwait, Bahrain, Poland, and Hungary. He also works with the Academy of Business (Poland), teaching ACCA courses and providing practical IAS training in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. In 2002, he co-authored a four-volume manual on the practical application of IAS with Dr. Christos Vlachos, which served as a precursor to the book "International Accounting Standards." Lukas has two children, Thelma and Thekla.
