Julia Annas

Julia E. Annas studied classical literature at the University of Oxford and holds a Ph.D. from Harvard. She was a fellow at St. Hugh's College, Oxford, from 1972 to 1986, and has been teaching at the University of Arizona since then, with a year spent at Columbia University. She was the founding editor of Oxford Studies in Ancient Philosophy for ten years, a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and served as a Senior Fellow at the Center for Hellenic Studies for five years. She has authored five books, collaborated on three, and published approximately sixty articles on various aspects of ancient philosophy.
