Panagiotis G. Kimourtzis

Panagiotis Kimourtzis is an Associate Professor at the University of the Aegean (Department of Primary Education). He teaches Educational Policy and History of Education. Previously, he participated in the establishment and organization of the Historical Archive of the University of Athens and served as its scientific director for 14 years. In the spring semester of 2004, he was elected Maitre de Conferences by the General Assembly of the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales. Since 2007, he has been a Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Palmes Académiques (French Ministry of Education). Currently, he directs the CineScience Scientific Seminar, serves as the General Secretary of the Greek Society of History of Education, and is a member of the Governing Committee of the Historical Archive of the University of the Aegean. His publications focus on the following fields and topics: educational policies, history of education, scientific fields and identities, economics of education, ceremonies-symbols and symbolic discourse in politics and education, cinema and science, educational policies for minorities and immigrants.
