Kostas N. Petropoulos

Kostas N. Petropoulos (June 6, 1930 - August 3, 2019) completed his philological studies at the University of Athens and earned a degree in history and archaeology (1959). During his student years, he was actively involved in the democratic movement. From his appointment in public secondary education (1962), he combined his teaching and administrative duties with scientific research and writing, alongside union activities in the sector. For many years, he was a teacher at Varvakeio (until 1985), after which he was selected as a School Counselor for secondary education and served as the president of the Regional Council in the Cyclades Prefecture. He published scientific books, studies, translations, and articles and frequently participated in educational, scientific, and philosophical conferences. In 1986, he decided to retire from public service. He passed away on August 3, 2019.
