Eyanthis CHatzivasileiou

Evanthis Hatzivassiliou was born in 1966 in Doxato, Drama. He graduated in 1987 from the Faculty of Law at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and earned his Ph.D. in the History of International Relations from the London School of Economics in 1992. Currently, he serves as a Professor of Postwar World History and the Chair of the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Athens. His work includes studies and books on the History of International Relations during the period 1870-1991, Greek foreign policy, 20th-century Greek political history, and the Cyprus issue. He is a member of the scientific committee of the Hellenic Parliament Foundation for Parliamentarism and Democracy, the President of the Scientific Council of the Konstantinos Karamanlis Institute for Democracy, a member of the Greek-Turkish Forum, and a partner of the National Research Foundation "Eleftherios K. Venizelos." He directs the "Modern and Contemporary History" series for Patakis Publishers and edits the historical page of the Sunday edition of Kathimerini.
