Doukas Kapantais

Doukas Kapantais was born in 1971 in Athens, the son of sculptor Vassos Kapantais and author Ismini Kapantais. He has completed two doctoral theses in philosophy (Paris - Sorbonne 2000, and Bern 2007) on Aristotelian metaphysics and modern logic, respectively. In 2003, he was elected as a junior researcher at the Academy of Athens (Center for Research in Greek Philosophy, KEEF). He continues to work at the same center (as an appointed researcher since 2007, and as a principal researcher since 2011). He has taught Logic at the University of Athens and has served as a visiting professor at the University of Cyprus. He is a member of the Greek Philosophical Society and the European Society for Ancient Philosophy. His expertise lies in ancient Greek ontology and contemporary philosophical logic. His literary works include the poetry collection "Little Boys Little Girls," published by Nefeli in 2004, and the novel "The Empress" (the first volume of the trilogy "The Chronicle of New Earth"), published by Nefeli in 2012.
