THodoros K. Katsanevas

Theodoros Katsanevas is a professor at the University of Piraeus and a visiting professor at the University of Athens, specializing in Labor Economics. He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics, an MA in Labor Relations from the University of Warwick in England, and a degree in Economics from the University of Piraeus. Over thirty of his books and studies have been published by public research centers, such as KEPE and EKKE, as well as by various publishing houses, some of which are taught at different universities and schools. He was a key co-responsible figure for the government program of 1981 and participated in the close governmental and political core of the 1980s, including as a member of the then Executive Committee of PASOK. He served as the Governor of IKA (1985-1987), Governor of OAED (1981-1985), and for several years as an elected member of the Greek Parliament representing the Second District of Athens (1989-2004), as well as the head of ministerial, parliamentary bodies, and committees. He is the president of the Scientific Society for Career Counseling (ELESYP) and the Scientific Society for Labor Relations, a member of the editorial board of the scientific journals published by these organizations, as well as the journal Spoudai, and a founding member of the Economic Chamber of Greece, among others. He actively participates in research, studies, and conferences on the economy, employment, career counseling, human resources, and new technologies. He is the creator of original career counseling tests administered by public and private organizations in Greece, Cyprus, and internationally, delivers numerous lectures, and participates in seminars on related topics. He plays the guitar, composes music, and has participated with his works in painting exhibitions. He has two sons and a daughter.
