
Nikoletta I. Giantsi - Meletiadi
Nikoleta I. Giantsi is an Assistant Professor of European Medieval History at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens and has been a long-time collaborator in history seminars at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. Her academic interests primarily focus on topics of social and economic history of Western Europe, with particular emphasis on commercial activity, urban development, women, the poor, and heretical movements. Doctoral dissertation (1993): "Western Commercial Activity in the East during the Early Middle Ages." Other publications include: "Women's Marginal Movements in Late Medieval Europe" (2001), "The Schism of 1054 and the Cluny Reform" (2003), "Urban Reality in Medieval Theater" (2009), "The Meeting of Odysseus and the Cathars in the Waters of the Mediterranean" (2009).
