Giorgos V. Nikolaou

George V. Nikolaou was born in Kryoneri, Corinthia, in 1954. He studied at the School of Theology and the School of Philosophy (Department of History and Archaeology) at the University of Athens. He holds a Ph.D. in History from Marc Bloch University in Strasbourg, where he pursued postgraduate studies in modern European history. From 1992 to 2002, he lived and worked in Paris, attending postgraduate seminars in post-Byzantine economic and social history, Ottoman Empire institutions at the Sorbonne and EHESS, as well as Islamic studies at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes. His research interests primarily focus on the Peloponnese region from the 17th to the mid-19th century, a period for which he has published various studies. He has participated in numerous conferences in Greece and abroad.
