Pantelis G. Sklias

Pantelis Sklias is a graduate of Panteion University and holds a master's and doctoral degree in International Political Economy from the University of Sussex (UK). He conducted postdoctoral research at the Hellenic Center for Political Research at Panteion University, with a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). He collaborates with the Hellenic Open University as an educational material author and as part of the Adjunct Faculty. He has taught at the University of Macedonia (Department of Balkan, Slavic, and Oriental Studies and Department of International and European Economic and Political Relations) as well as at the Democritus University of Thrace (Department of International Economic Relations and Development). He is a visiting researcher at the Centre for Culture, Development, and the Environment at the University of Sussex. He serves as the chairman of the board of the Greek Non-Governmental Organization European Perspective, which is active in designing and implementing humanitarian aid and development initiatives in the Balkan countries (North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Serbia), the Third World (Ecuador, Kenya, Mali, Tanzania, Commonwealth of Dominica, India), and the former USSR. His research interests include the study of international political economy and sustainable development in the countries of the Balkans, Central and Eastern Europe, the former USSR, and the Third World.
