Apostolos A. Mpallas
Apostolos Ballas received his degree in Business Administration from the University of Macedonia in 1986, followed by an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics (LSE). In 1991, he earned his Ph.D. from the London Business School (LBS), focusing his dissertation on business valuation using accounting data. He has taught at the University of Macedonia, the University of Piraeus, and ALBA. From 2006 to 2011, he served as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Athens University of Economics and Business. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the same institution, teaching undergraduate courses in Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Auditing, and postgraduate courses in Financial Accounting, Financial Statement Analysis, Managerial Accounting, and Auditing. He has published numerous articles on auditing services market issues, accounting history, and financial accounting in renowned international journals. Additionally, he is a member of the Editorial Board of the European Accounting Review and has served as a reviewer for research papers in related journals. His current research interests focus on the economic analysis of the auditing services market, management control systems, and public sector accounting. Apostolos Ballas has also acted as a consultant for Greek and international companies and was recently part of the technical support project team for the Integrated Fiscal Policy Information System at the General Accounting Office of the State.
