Maria Skiadaresi

Maria E. Skiadaresi was born in Athens in 1956. She studied History and Archaeology at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens. Her work initially focused on prehistoric archaeology and later on modern history. For many years, she worked on an archaeological excavation in Crete while also teaching history at a French high school. Her writings have been published in various magazines and newspapers. Her works include: the novel "Atropos or The Life and Death of Venetia Daponte" (Patakis, 1996), the novella "And Raises the Dead" (Patakis, 1997), the collection of novellas "Yellow Time" (Patakis, 1999), the essay "The Work of Rigas Velestinlis" (a tribute to the 200th anniversary of his death, Metaichmio, 1998), the short story "The Damage" in a collective volume (Metaichmio, 2002), the novel "With the Moon on My Back" (Kastaniotis, 2003), the short story collection "Like the Unfaithful and Us" (Kastaniotis, 2005), and the novel "Bronze Race" (Patakis, 2013). Her children's books include: "Good Morning-Good Night" (Delfini, 1994), "Konstantinos Kanaris" (Historical Monograph) (Ammos, 1997), "The Treasure of Asprogenis" (Patakis, 1998), "Rigas Velestinlis" (Historical Monograph) (Ammos, 1997), "Yilan, the Princess of Snakes" (Fantasia, 2004), among others. She is a member of the Society of Authors.
