Giannis Tountas

Giannis Tountas is an Associate Professor of Social Medicine at the Medical School of the University of Athens. He was born in Athens in 1952 and studied Biology and Public Health at Harvard University and Medicine at the University of Athens. He is the scientific director of the Health Services Studies Center at the Laboratory of Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Medical School of the University of Athens, president of the Hellenic Society for Health Promotion and Education, and director of the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine. He is also the author of the book "Society and Health" and publishes the journal "New Health."
