Maria Korasidou

Maria Korasidou was born in 1959 in Drama, Greece. She studied Political Science and History in France. She has published the books "The Miserables of Athens and Their Healers: Poverty in the 19th Century Greek Capital" (1995, 2000 2nd edition, "Typothito") and "When Disease Threatens: Surveillance and Control of Population Health in 19th Century Greece" ("Typothito", 2002). She is a lecturer in the Department of Social Policy and Social Anthropology at Panteion University, where she teaches History of Social Policy. She is married to Matthaios Tsirimonakis and has one son.
