THeofanis Karagiorgos

Theofanis Karagiorgos is a Professor of Accounting at the University of Macedonia, specializing in Economic and Social Sciences. He has been a member of the University of Macedonia Council since 2013 and is responsible for the budget and cash flow team. He served as the Chair of the Department of Business Administration at the University of Macedonia for four years (2008-2012). Since 2011, he has been the CEO of the University of Macedonia's Asset Utilization and Management Company. He was also the Vice Chair of the Department of Marketing and Operations Management at the University of Macedonia from 2009 to 2013. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Macedonia's Asset Utilization and Management Company since 2006. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Thessaloniki State Orchestra under the Ministry of Culture and a member of the Board of the Foundation of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki. Professor Karagiorgos has authored numerous economic studies on business computerization, auditing, and costing. He has published over 80 papers and is the author of seven books on Accounting, Corporate Income Taxation, Costing, and International Accounting Standards. His teaching experience includes courses in Accounting, Corporate Accounting and Income Tax, Costing, Tax Practice and Auditing, as well as International Accounting Standards. He teaches undergraduate courses at the University of Macedonia and postgraduate programs at the University of Macedonia and Xanthi in Accounting and Managerial Accounting. His research interests include the following areas: - International Accounting Standards - Applications of Managerial Accounting in Public and Private Enterprises - Corporate Taxation - Pricing Policy - Corporate Social Responsibility
