Georgios A. Vamvoukas

Georgios A. Vamvoukas is a full professor at the Athens University of Economics and Business (formerly ASOEE). He holds a degree from the Department of Economic Science at the Athens University of Economics and Business. He pursued further studies at the University of Bristol (Prel. M.Sc. in Quantitative Economics) and the University of Bath (M.Sc. in Economics) in the UK. He has been awarded a Ph.D. in Economic Sciences from the University of Piraeus. His postgraduate studies in the UK were funded by a scholarship from the Bodossaki Foundation. His research and writing activities focus on Economic Fluctuations, Industrial Theory and Policy, Competitiveness, Applied Econometrics, Economic Development, Public Finance, International Economics, and Macroeconomic Theory and Policy. He has served as a Special Secretary at the Ministry of National Economy and as a Special Advisor at the Ministry of Culture. He was a scientific associate at KEPE (Center for Planning and Economic Research), a research scientist at IOBE (Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research), and an economic advisor to the Hellenic Parliament. From 1988 to 2001, he was a permanent columnist and contributor to the weekly magazine "Oikonomikos Tachydromos." His published scientific and literary work exceeds 500 publications, including articles in scientific journals, books, monographs, presentations at international conferences, and various research studies.
