Maro Papathanasiou
Maro K. Papathanasiou is an emeritus professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Athens (EKPA), specializing in the History of the Natural Sciences. She holds degrees from the Departments of Mathematics (1971) and History and Archaeology (1984) at EKPA. She earned her doctorate from the School of Physics and Mathematics at EKPA (1978) and the Faculty of Philosophy at Humboldt University of Berlin (1992). Her research and publications focus on the natural sciences and technology, archaeoastronomy, early chemistry, the occult sciences, and natural philosophy in antiquity and the Byzantine era. She participates in the iMOUSEION Project at the Center for Hellenic Studies at Harvard University. She is also involved in music and poetry.
