Georgios I. Doukidis

Georgios I. Doukidis (1958, Xylagani, Rodopi) is a Professor of E-Business at the Department of Management Science and Technology at the Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Thessaloniki, an MSc in Operational Research, and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the London School of Economics, where he taught during the 1980s. He has also taught at leading European Business Schools and served as a visiting professor at LSE and Brunel University. He has published over 250 scientific articles, 10 books with international publishers, and successfully supervised 20 Ph.D. candidates. The E-Business and E-Commerce Laboratory (ELTRUN), which he founded and directs, is one of the largest in its specialization among European Business Schools, with its 35 researchers and 40 successfully executed international research projects. ELTRUN's research excellence has been recognized with three international awards: the Pan-European Microsoft Retail Application Development (RAD) award, the Pan-European Case Study Award in the category "Knowledge, Information and Communication Systems Management," and the Pan-European ECR Europe Award for innovation in consumer analytics in retail. For the past 30 years, he has served as a management consultant for over 50 local and international companies on issues such as business development, innovation and reorganization, digital transformation, and e-commerce. Internationally, he has been a pioneer in the development of the scientific community and best practices in information systems, e-commerce, and digital innovation and entrepreneurship. He is married to Lina Vantziou, and they have two children.
