Ioannis F. Kaztaridis
Ioannis Kaztaridis, born in 1957, grew up and lives in Katerini. He studied Greek Philology at the Faculty of Philosophy of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.). He specialized in Modern History and Sociology. He holds a master's degree from the same university with the grade "Excellent." He completed a thesis after painstaking and thorough research in public and private archives (Historical Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Historical Archive of Macedonia, Center for Asia Minor Studies, Benaki Museum, General State Archives, etc.) on the topic, "The Exodus of Greeks from Armenia (1919-1921)." After completing his doctoral dissertation in pedagogy, he was awarded a Ph.D. from the Faculty of Education in Florina at the University of Western Macedonia in 2010 with the grade "Excellent." He served as a philology teacher at the 4th Unified Lyceum of Katerini and from 1996 to 2002, as the head of the General State Archives of Pieria, a service he himself established. From 2007 to 2010, he was the Director of the 1st General Lyceum of Katerini. Today, he serves as the Director of Secondary Education of Pieria, a position he also held from 2002 to 2004. His scientific interests include the history of the Greeks of Pontus and the local history of his homeland, Katerini and Pieria. He has participated as a speaker in many scientific conferences, and his articles have been published in scientific journals, both Greek and international.
