
Dimitris V. Papoulias
Dimitris V. Papoulias was born in 1939 in Psari Trikolonon, Arcadia. He is an emeritus professor at the Department of Economics at the University of Athens. He has authored books and published articles in international scientific journals. His long-term research interests include operational research, management, and public sector organization. He has worked as a consultant for the Ministry of Agriculture and served as the Secretary General of Public Enterprises and Organizations, Deputy Governor of ETBA, and Chairman of the Boards of OTE, DEI, and Chipita S.A. From 1991 to 2001, he was the president of the Group for Social Modernization (OPEK). He was a close associate of former Prime Minister Kostas Simitis. During his student years in the Mathematics Department at the University of Athens, he was a member of the youth wing of EDA and left the country due to the dictatorship in 1968. He lived in Rome and Oxford, where he studied and worked at the universities there.
