Ioannis N. THeodorakopoulos

Ioannis N. Theodorakopoulos was born in 1900 in Vassaras, Sparta. In 1920, he went to Vienna to study Classical Philology and Philosophy, and in 1922, he moved to Heidelberg to focus exclusively on Philosophy, where he earned his doctorate in 1925. Three years later, he returned to Greece. In 1929, he co-founded the "Archive of Philosophy and Theory of Sciences." In 1930, he was appointed as a lecturer and in 1933 as a full professor of Philosophy at the University of Thessaloniki. In 1939, he was elected as a professor of Systematic Philosophy at the University of Athens, where he taught for nearly thirty years until 1967. In 1960, he was elected to the Academy of Athens, and in 1971, the first volume of "Philosophy," the yearbook of the Academy's Center for Philosophy, which he founded, was published. Ioannis Theodorakopoulos passed away in February 1981. His work spans thousands of pages.
