Gregory N. Mankiw

Gregory N. Mankiw is a Professor of Economics at Harvard University. He began his economics studies at Princeton University, where he received an A.B. in 1980. After earning a Ph.D. from MIT, he started teaching at Harvard in 1985 and was promoted to full Professor in 1987. Today, he regularly teaches undergraduate and graduate students in macroeconomics. Mankiw is a prolific author with active participation in both academic and policy debates. His research spans various fields of economics, including work on price regulation, consumer behavior, financial markets, fiscal and monetary policy, and economic growth. In addition to his duties at Harvard, he is a researcher at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a member of the Economic Activity Committee, and an advisor to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the Congressional Budget Office. He is also the author of widely popular introductory economics textbooks. Professor Mankiw lives in Wellesley, Massachusetts, with his wife Deborah and their children Catherine, Nicholas, and Peter.
