Gunnar Hering

Gunnar Hering (1934-1994) was a Ph.D. graduate from the University of Vienna, a lecturer at the University of Freiburg, a professor of Eastern and Southeastern European History at the University of Göttingen, and a professor of Modern Greek Studies at the University of Vienna. Proficient in most Balkan languages, he published studies on political, social, intellectual, and ideological issues in modern Balkan and Greek history.
